Only noted this rather good indie music blog cos they updated their blog at the same time as me and were consequently on the same "Recently Updated" window at blogger. Lots of piccies, lots of links, easy on the eye.... go take a look.

You can tell if somethings a good film by how much you dream about it... The funny thing is, I dreamed I was neither George Clooney, nor Brad Pitt, but the "young guy" - you know, you always get a new guy in films don't you. Just like you always get token old bloke, token english bloke, token comedy duo. token sexy bird, token miniature oriental contortionist...

Actually, on the "token bird" front, I have to say that I really do not see what is so special about Julia Roberts. Her entrance is led up to by a kind of "here comes this amazing bird" line, and we see the look on two of the male characters faces, you know the kind of jaw-dropping, eye-popping thing that blokes only do in their own mind in real-life. So you're all expectant, and then you see old skinny big lips.... But any how, like I said, the film was good, and despite all the "it's way better than the original" claims, I'd still like to see the original, just to see the difference....

"Are we not drawn onward, we few, drawn onward to new era?"
One of the best palindromes I've not heard before from this bizarre article about how today's date is palindromic (20/02/2002).

Yay the Millennium bridge is safe again!

I really like the bridge. Even when it was out of action I liked standing and staring at it... There's something very restful about it. Maybe that's cos no-one was walking on it though...

Check out the video of the swaying Millenium bridge on the opening day.

Welsh colleges tour was coo this weekend, Poppy gave me one of those cool little (not the really tiny ones) digital cameras for Valentines Day, which is great. Unfortunately I've discovered I'm rubbiosh at taking photos, espescially if I've been drinking. Expect to see a few snaps here soon...

got one of those ideas that seems unbelieveable that no-one has thought of? Or one that is only "slightly thought out". Why not head over to the half-bakery and submit it, and marvel at all the other crazy ideas people have...

Poppy's Mum has a work in progress called "Cats Kill". It's essentially a photograph of each thing their pet cats kill, with a ruler for scale. Dog Door of Death is based on the same idea....

OK, like, if I was digging stuff up, and found an obviously non-human bone, i might consider it worthy of attention, partiucularly if there were more bones there, and the rocks were old, and stuff... but WHO realises that the weird stuff they are looking at is Dinosaur spew?

We didn't see Gosford Park at the weekend btw, but Monsters Inc instead. One of the most interesting thing about this weeks cinema experience, was that there appeared to be a plain clothes policeman in the cinema (his radio kept going off, that's how we knew). The labour conference was just across the road form the cinema,. in the CIA, so I guess he was keeping an eye out for suspicious looking individuals....

Poppy seemed to think that this policeman would be watching every film time and time agin, as we saw him go back up the escalator on his way down, but I can't imagine this was the case, surely it would be better for him to rotate..... I mean were there more than one bobby in there anyway or what? awww... my brain hurts. and I should be working...

ok, so like, my wife is great.

She works hard at a new job, then comes home and cooks me tea (some crazy butternut-squash/sun-dried tomato pasta thing - yum), then plays hostess to all the home-group, then fills in some forms for new bed before packing bag to go to gym at 6:45am next morning - wow.. I really really love her.

Discovered that someones reading the website in spanish! so hello spanish friends? Hmmm I hope it's not portugese and I'm massively offending you... or Catalan... Also spotted someone viewing it in german so hello german readers too! One of the funny things is that they don't realise that Poppy is actually my wife's name - it's translated into the spanish/german for Poppy... weird/cool huh?

In case you're wondering, thats "Mohnblume" in german and "amapola" in spanish.... and for our foreign visitors, in English, it's "P.o.p.p.y"

Heard Lamacq ay last night that lost prophets named themselves after a Duran Duran bootleg. Yet again, the LP's go up in my estimations. I'd heard their "View to a Kill" cover, but never realised their obsession went that far

Yes, I like Duran Duran ok?

Yes yes yes - mIRC 6.0 is out!

And guess what... it allows multiple connections! Now, I know that just about every other client in the world has been able to do this, but Im afraid I am an unashamed mirc addict. I love the little floating desktop windows that no other client provides.

It's FRIDAY! Which menas it's time for smattering.org's Friday Five. Here we go:

1. Have you ever had braces? Any other teeth trauma? Yeah. For what seemed like an eternity while I was in secondary school. I guess it was only about 3.5 years. Orthodontists always seem so terribly authoritarian. She used to scare people into having better oral hygeine.

2. Ever broken any bones? Naaah. Always fancied giving it a go though...

3. Ever had stitches? No again. Which is a little surprising how darn clumsy I am.

4. What are the stories behind some of your [physical] scars?errr. hmmm. brith mark lower back. various cute/bruises when falling off bikes... and that's it I guess...

5. How do you plan to spend your weekend? Tonight going to a birthday pary which may involve bowling, then Poppy's going to the gym on Saturday, we may both get our haircut, I'm going to the gym on Sunday, church, maybe see Gosford Park guess that's it....
